Willie and I managed to get free tickets to go and watch the pre release screening of Transformers. We were pretty excited as we’ve been wanting to see it for a while. I am not going to give it away for anyone but I am going to say it was brilliant. I really enjoyed every moment of the movie. I can definitely recommend this movie to anyone. Ok that is all I can say without giving too much away and as it is only opening 20 July I won’t say another

word. Go and watch it!!

I remember in December 2005 I bought my little cousin two transformer toys for R30-00. I can’t help but wonder how expensive those toys are going to be now. I want one….or two… oh hell I want the whole lot.

Look out for Transformers in theaters soon!!

Willie and I have finally upgraded to Platinum Movie Club cards. Yay! So we were able to go the Pirates preview on Tuesday night. We are so used to leaving home 5 minutes before the movie starts as Musgrave Centre is just down the road. Of course we didn’t consider the fact that this movie was a preview therefore fully booked. As I was getting snacks Willie went to check how full it was and it was completely full. Of course by this time there are only seats in the very front left. It was awful. Thank goodness the movie was fantastic. Absolutely made up for the fact that I had a sore neck. Highly recommended movie. It is very good.

Willie and I also went to Microsoft DevDays today at Suncoast. It was excellent. I am so excited about all the new technology out there. Even though I am just starting to learn about everything it was so interesting. I came back today with a whole bunch of stuff I want to play with. Let’s see if I can actually get something to work. I am now going to play with Silverlight.

Willie and I went to watch this movie and it was extremely good. It wasn’t what I had expected after watching the previews and in the beginning it seems that the story is a bit slow but it becomes clear later. The story is amazing and I walked away thinking about a lot of things. Willie wrote about it on his blog so take a look here

I can highly recommend this movie even though I would think it is probably aimed at a younger audience. Absolutely fantastic. I agree with Willie about the level of acting these young actors show in this movie and I have seen much older and experienced actors try to do the same. You believe them. They make the story real.

We’ve also recently watched Ghostrider. Excellent movie even though I wouldn’t say the story line is the best part of the movie. Nicolas Cage seems to impress me more with each movie. Very good. The story line wasn’t exceptional but he does raise an interesting question about second chances. I really enjoyed this movie. What I didn’t know, though was that it is a comic!

We also watched Wild Hogs. Oh my goodness, very very funny!! Was quite a combination of actors. John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H Macy. It was very funny. Not the traditional roles for some of these actors but what an experience. It kinda makes me want to jump on a bike and go on a road trip. Without these guys of course as I am sure they are just plain bad luck. Was also very nice to see Marisa Tomei in a movie again. I think she is beautiful and very talented. Even though she isn’t in a lead role she is still very good.

300

We went to watch a movie with Craig and Tamsyn tonight. We ended up watching 300 as both Willie and I thought it looked interesting. All I can say about the movie is “Fantastic”.

Ok not all I can say. I thought it was going to be good but I was pleasantly surprised that it was not good but amazingly good. It’s a bit bloody and gory but not in your face so. The story is beautiful and there are some very funny moments. I can’t describe how much I liked it but to say Go and Watch it. I somehow think that watching it on the big screen adds a little extra to it although I have no doubt that it will still be an excellent movie on DVD.

After the movie Willie and I went to Pavilion. He bought me the “Devil wears Prada” dvd. Yay!! I just got home and had to phone my brother with some info and he let me talk to Liam. He sounds sooo cute and he is very very clever (it runs in the family see). He told me his name and who the president is and his grandparents’ address. And he’s just a little over 2 years old. I miss them all so much. I haven’t spoken to Petro in ages. Llewellyn says she is well but maybe we’ll be able to visit really soon.

So we watched it last night.  If someone had to ask me right now if I liked it my first answer would be yes, very much.  Although on discussing it there were a few things about it that could’ve been better.

At one point the mother was driving me insane!!  I am disappointed that the two other sisters (especially the blonde one from Coyote Ugly) didn’t get much screen time. At one point it feels a little stretched.  The ending could’ve been a little better.

In general I liked it.  The story line was really good and here I have to agree with Tamsyn that the acting was just a little off.  A good watch though.  I would recommend you watch it for the laughs and form your own opinion about it but at the very least you will leave there with sore side from laughing too much.

My popcorn was delicious though.  Salt and vinegar mixed with the sour cream and chives (thanx Tamsyn)…..yummy!!!

Willie, Yvette and I went to 54 on Friday night. It was really nice except I felt so OLD!! I can’t remember doing the things those girls were doing when I was that young. I stood and stared for so long I was so amazed. Needless to say we went home early but it was still fun. It was actually the first time Willie and I went to a club together. Afterwards we stopped at Bimbo’s and had a bite to eat.

We went to the movies with Tamsyn on Sunday night. We watched Pursuit of Happyness. It was excellent!!! Wasn’t sure what to expect but only had good reviews. It was absolutely fantastic. That little boy is the cutest thing and after watching that movie you start to think that maybe life isn’t that bad and it could’ve been a whole lot worse. Haha.

Tamsyn came over early and had some coffee and we could spend some time chatting. Had a really good time catching up. I think I could’ve easy spent the whole night chatting to her but alas. Maybe next time.

We’re going to watch “because I said so” tomorrow night. I’ve had some people say it’s not good at all and some say it’s excellent so I will let you know what I thought of it.
