Willie and I managed to get free tickets to go and watch the pre release screening of Transformers. We were pretty excited as we’ve been wanting to see it for a while. I am not going to give it away for anyone but I am going to say it was brilliant. I really enjoyed every moment of the movie. I can definitely recommend this movie to anyone. Ok that is all I can say without giving too much away and as it is only opening 20 July I won’t say another

word. Go and watch it!!

I remember in December 2005 I bought my little cousin two transformer toys for R30-00. I can’t help but wonder how expensive those toys are going to be now. I want one….or two… oh hell I want the whole lot.

Look out for Transformers in theaters soon!!

I took my cousin to the Durban Beach Festival on Thursday. The wind was terrible but it was hot and sunny. We just strolled around for a little while. We went back on Friday and the wind wasn’t as bad but it was definitely hotter. There were so many people enjoying the sun. I was shocked by how many people were swimming as the water was freezing! On Friday we decided to donate blood as well. It was Jamcj’s first time and even though she was very nervous she did very well. She got a No Chicken certificate and a little goodie bag. She was very excited and now she can donate every time her mom goes.

On Thursday night Willie, my cousin Jamcj and I went to the concert. We arrived as Cassette was finishing off. After that was Wonderboom and I was blown away. It was the first time I had seen them live and it was brilliant. They really got the crowd going.

After Wonderboom it was Watershed. Now I love most of their songs but “Indigo Girl” has a special place in my heart as it was my mom’s favourite song. I was over the moon when they started it. I had such an amazing time. I will make sure not to miss the beach festival next year that is for sure.

I’ve already mentioned that we have a new member of the family, Spartan. All the other pets/kids are doing very well.

Zena has grown up so much. It’s unbelievable to think that she was once the small little puppy. She still sleeps on the bed tough, which is a concern considering her size now and where she is possibly going to end up. She is a brilliant guard dog. She “patrols” at night. She will walk into our room and walk around the bed as if to make sure we are there and we are ok and the she walks out presumably to do the same in all the other rooms. She does this on a half hour basis. She is very smart but she is now going through the teething stage which means she chews on everything. hands and feet included. I must admit she hasn’t caused any major damage in the house yet but our little bamboo tree thingy outside has had better times. I’ve bought her a chew toy but she isn’t very interested.

Brat has also grown up so much. He still sometimes thinks he is a little dog and he plays so rough. He is beautiful though and I wouldn’t change him for the world. He is having a ball with Spartan even though you hear Spartan squealing for help ever so often. Brat loves to play and catch stuff so you better be careful what you move when he is around. Although when he wants to sleep he plonks over and sleeps. Then he is at his cutest.

I took all the dogs to park yesterday so they could run and get rid of their energy. They are all doing extremely well. Nosh is getting old though and the cold is getting to her. She is either in front of the heater or under the duvet. Luckily the days aren’t so cold though.

Visits

My cousin, Jamcj, came to visit for two weeks. She is from Pretoria and she is 16. I haven’t seen her in ages and she has grown up so much but she is still a typical teenager.

When she arrived I showed her the internet and TheSims2 that I have loaded on my machine. She has been having a ball. In between chatting online and playing Sims she has been keeping busy. She’ll be leaving soon and I will miss her but I will be glad to have my PC back again. Does that make me a meanie??

After the loss of our little boy Basil it was becoming obvious that Brat was lonely.

Tamsyn managed to arrange for a new addition to the family. His name is Spartan. He was very scared of all the dogs at first but he has adjusted so well. He now even rubs up against the dogs looking for love. I will update on the status of all the pets shortly.

World meet Spartan…

Hospital

Well it’s been ages since my last post but things have been so hectic here.

My dad ended up in hospital shortly after my last post. He had a spider bite on his arm near his wrist that was bad. The poison then travelled through his system and into his elbow joint. He woke up in the morning with his arm so swollen that his hand looked like a surgical glove that was blown up. He went to the doctor and the Dr admitted him immediately. After X-Rays they discovered that he had a fracture in his elbow joint and the poison was seeping into his bone. The Dr said if he had waited another day he could quite easily have lost his arm. He was treated immediately with high dose of antibiotics and scheduled for surgery.

I will admit was a long week that he was in hospital and an even longer week that he was home. He is booked off till the 10th of July but he has been back at work this week. His arm is still very sore but at least the wound is getting much better.

He was in St Augustine’s Hospital. It is a very old hospital with a balcony that runs pretty much around the whole hospital. He was on the top floor and the view was amazing! I’ve tried to take some pictures and night but let me tell you that the pictures don’t do it justice. He sat there so much just because of the view. I wouldn’t mind having that view from home……
