Weekend

I got spoilt again this weekend J

Saturday started off quiet. Willie had a meeting and my dad was at work. Some time in the afternoon my brother phoned and said he is down the road so he came to say hello. It was sooo nice to see him again. He couldn’t stay long but we had a nice catch up and he promised to come again soon. Man it was great seeing him again.

My dad phoned to say he is going to stay with friends for the rest of the weekend but was coming back to fetch the A1 grand prix tickets we won. Willie came home early evening and spoiled us with pizza for supper. Yummy!!

Sunday we decided to go to Scottburgh for ‘breakfast’ which turned into lunch. It was a beautiful day but very windy so we didn’t even walk on the beach. We did have a nice view of the main beach though and had fun watching all the people. There was a dog there that seemed to love the water more than anyone else. He would run into the waves and swim a little then run all the way out again. Only to repeat it. He looked to be having a lot of fun

After that we went shopping at the ‘mall’. I got spoilt with the new Sims Life Stories game as well as the Pirates of the Carribean game. And also got the Celtic women CD. Wow…that is one amazing cd. I watched them on Dis hoe dit is and they were stunning. The cd is well worth it.

After that I relaxed, played my games and got to bed late. Normal story. It’s been so hot here lately that I can’t wait for winter anymore. Hopefully it will come soon even though here the winter isn’t even cold enough to wear a jersey or jacket. Ahhh the joys of living near the beach!!

Today would’ve been my mom’s 51st birthday. Happy birthday mom!!!

The date is set: 8 Dec 2007.

Weekend…

It’s Monday again….all too soon. Didn’t do much on Saturday. We went to Pinetown and walked around a bit. Came home and ate and spent most of the night watching movies. I was still awake at 4.45 and was able to catch up on all those things I had recorded during the week.

I woke up late Sunday morning and took my dad to his work quickly. Then I chatted for a while and played with Poser. Craig was down for the weekend so we had arranged to meet him and Tamsyn for movies Sunday afternoon.

We went to Musgrave and watched Blood Diamond. What a fantastic movie. It was bloody and cruel and loud but it was fantastic. The only funny/bad thing was Leonardo DiCaprio’s attempt at a South African accent. He got it right every now and then but for most of the movie he sounded like a European. Who ever taught him the accent however, was going for the rough, teen version full of “ja bru” etc. It was quite funny but I think it might spoil it for a few South Africans. I do find it quite funny that they have sub titles for the foreign (African) languages but not for the Afrikaans. That was very interesting and of course some of the things they say in Afrikaans is quite funny.

The movie also has a lot of South African actors in it including Arnold Vosloo, who for once actually plays a South African. Again, it’s a brilliant movie and I would recommend it to anyone.

After the movie we decided to have a bite to eat. Unfortunately Mimmo’s was closed so we went to ‘Mexican Chilli’. Unfortunately I would NOT recommend that anyone goes there. Craig ordered chilli poppers. No more than 5 on the plate. They were greasy and oily and the oil had a strange colour. Willie and I ordered burgers. They weren’t bad enough to get up and walk out or send back but I definitely wouldn’t go there again. Craig had line fish with stir fried vegetables but the vegetables seemed to be deep fried. Tamsyn had ribs and they had like a watery sauce on them. All in all a bad meal. I don’t know if it was because we were there late on a Sunday night or if their food is bad in general but I would definitely not go back there again!!

Today was a long day and seemed like it was never going to end. At least I can catch up on some more recordings :D

The all new HoneyB.co.za is here.

New design done by Diago. It is absolutely everything I wanted. I love it. It’s very pink and bright and different.

Thank you VERY much for making it everything I wanted. It’s perfect. We’re hoping to be able to add galleries to the sites soon so in the next few weeks I will be able to share photos as well.

I had to take our puppy Zack to the vet today. He wasn’t well and today was just an all time low for him. He had no strength and by mid day he didn’t even want to eat anymore.

I took him to the vet and the first thing he said was that Zack had almost no blood in his little body. He would need a blood transfusion and a drip and even then things weren’t looking good. He couldn’t work out where he was losing the blood.

The vet seemed to think that Zack had some kind of defect as he just wasn’t growing. His teeth and so on indicated that he was much older than his body looked. We made the decision to have Zack put down. For many reasons one being that he was going to suffer and there was no guarantee that he was going to make it or even that there was a good chance. He just didn’t have enough blood. And two, we lost a few dogs last year and one of them – Paige – was in hospital for about 5 days and when she came out she was thin, weak and lifeless. She had to be fed with a syringe and could barely walk a few steps. We were with her continuously and a few days later she died. It was heartbreaking watching her die and suffer like that. We had so much hope that she was going to make it and to suddenly have her die like that was awful. I couldn’t go through that again.

So, to Zack. One special puppy that crept into our hearts almost immediately. You are missed and will always be remembered.
